Designed and developed in Chicago, our products are made to provide “just right” layering during transitional weather, and extra protection on the bitingly cold days. How we layer is how we express ourselves. With the right pieces, your wardrobe becomes much more versatile throughout every season. Starkweather's outerwear staples are meant to mix in with what is already in your closet, and to make it feel new again.
Starting in 2018, we have released variations on the staple layering pieces: the crux and the liner, along with a continued custom outerwear offering from our catalog of styles. The crux is one size, and effortless to wear. Designed to be worn by both men and women, it is an upagrade to any scarf or scarf alternative you've ever tried.
Designer Lee Anderson grew up in Chicago, where her love of outerwear started. After attending Parsons in New York City, while working as a designer for a growing fashion label, Lee moved to Paris to begin her design practice. While in France, she reviewed hundreds of runway shows, and helped launch Paris Fashion Tech Week. Passionate about building a more sustainable fashion industry, her work includes research into sustainable sourcing and manufacturing of natural fibers, bringing her as far as Mongolia and Peru.
